Notes and tips about choosing your domain name

Most of our UK customers choose a .co.uk. But if you're planning to trade Worldwide a .com .net or a .biz might be preferable. Domain names starting at the top of the alphabet (e.g. , A, B, C, 1, 2, etc.) can be advantageous especially if you decide you want us to market your website on Yahoo for instance. Please note that names can be a mixture of both numerals and letters, but MUST be at least three characters long. You can also separate a word by a dash or dashes. Example: good-times-2.com

To check the availability of your new domain name first determine which domain 'extension' you prefer such as a .com .net .org .biz .info .co.uk .org.uk etc., by clicking the toolbar where they're located. Now choose your domain name (e.g. alphataxis) and simply type it into the box below and click Search. Its availability will immediately be shown. Should you find your chosen name is unavailable you could select a name with a dash - such as 'hello-dolly' or you might try a different domain 'extension', such as .biz or a .net until you are successful.

Lastly, we advise you keep your chosen name as short as possible. Short names are easier for surfers to remember, look better on your business stationery, and will enhance visits to your eventual website! Don't forget, names can be a mixture of numerals and letters, but MUST be at least three characters long.
